Candice Quarles is an effective community leader with a passion for service and ready to serve at the next level.”

Candice Quarles was elected to the DeSoto City Council in May 2016 in a special election. Candice is running for her first full-term on the DeSoto City Council.

Prior to being elected, she served as a member of the City of Desoto’s Zoning Board of Adjustment. One of the guiding reasons that compelled Candice to run for City Council was to ensure that the next generation continued to have a real voice in helping to shape the future of the city.


  • Graduate, Leadership Southwest Class of 2018

  • Launched “Candid with Candice” video series to educate the community on political topics to encourage new voters in the electorate.


  • Led effort for DeSoto Works!, a job fair focused on employment specifically for DeSoto residents with 330+ attendees and 80+ employers present

  • Voted as a member of the City Council to lower tax rate to .7449 to .7399

  • Organized & led a town hall on the west side of DeSoto to discuss safety issues with 300+ attendees

  • Organized Dallas County Democratic Party October Block Walk in DeSoto

  • Member of the Veteran’s Day Military Memorial Committee for the City of DeSoto

  • Inaugural Leadership Hall of Fame Inductee, Dallas-Ft. Worth Urban League Young Professionals

  • Panelist, Young Texans Legislative Caucus "Ensuring Texas' success through effective millennial leadership"


  • Appointed as City Council Liaison, DeSoto Domestic Violence Advisory Committee

  • Appointed as City Council Liaison, DeSoto Historical Foundation

  • Selected as International Young Elected Leaders Delegate to Taiwan

  • Graduate, Dallas Regional Chamber’s Leadership Dallas Class 2016

  • Speaker, Texas Democratic Convention in San Antonio

  • Elected as Board Chair, The Golden Circle- African American Women’s Initiative for DFW business and civic leaders

  • Board Member, League of Women Voters-Dallas
